About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation W50S9625QA018 to Replace B53 Vehicle Hoists for the South Dakota Air National Guard. The Q&A addresses five key technical questions regarding lift installation, including constraints on floor anchoring due to unknown heating line locations, electrical connection responsibilities, and electrical infrastructure reuse. The contractor will be responsible for all electrical connections from the power source to the lift, can utilize existing electrical service and raceways, and must remove the current 120v outlets associated with the old lifts. Critically, the document indicates that no drilling or anchoring can occur outside the current lift footings due to uncertainty about in-floor heating line locations.

Questions and Answers
W50S9625QA018 – Replace B53 Vehicle Hoists
1. Is there a possibility for the lifts to be installed off the current footings?
Answer: There would be no way to secure the lift to the floor as there is no definitive way to locate the heating lines in the floor.
2. How close to the current footings is the in-floor heat installed?
Answer: We do not have as-built drawings, so I would consider anything outside of the current footings a no drill/anchor zone.
3. Is the awarded contractor responsible for all electrical connections from power source (service panel) to the lift?
Answer: Yes
4. Please confirm the existing electrical and electrical raceways can be used for the proposed new lifts.
Answer: Yes all current existing electrical service to old lifts can be reutilized to power the new lifts.
5. Please confirm if the 120v outlets at the end of the current lifts are to remain in place or be removed.
Answer: The current 120v outlets are to be removed with the old lifts and not reconnected to the new lifts.
