About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) containing detailed specifications for a 400-gallon diesel fuel transport tank (Fuel Bowser) for the 156th Contracting Office of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. The tank requirements include: a 400-500 gallon capacity, ability to transport on road and gravel surfaces, compatibility with a Pintle Hook tow vehicle attachment, and a double-wall construction with a stainless steel outer wall to resist corrosion. The Fuel Bowser will be used to service stationary and mobile generators and support equipment like flood lights during routine maintenance, power outages, and natural events, replacing the current 13k AT Forklift fuel transport method.

Text version
1. Can I confirm you are looking for 400-gallon USG which equates to approx. 1,500 litres?
- Yes, we requested 400 gal (1,514 litres), satisfactory range is 400gal to 500gal.
2. Are you wanting to take the tank on the road?
- Yes, the tank must be able to be transported on road and gravel surfaces. (Highway rated is not mandatory)
3. What are you towing the tank with?
- Tow vehicle equipped with a “Pintle Hook” attachment.
4. What fuel type are you holding? Why does the inner tank need to be stainless steel?
- Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (NA1993). The tank construction should be double wall to prevent fuel spillage to the environment in case of inner tank leak. The Inner tank may be regular steel, but the outside wall must be Stainless Steel to resist the high corrosion environment that it will be used.
5. What are you using currently to transport your fuel?
- Currently we are using a 13k AT Forklift.
6. What will you be filling from the tank?
- The Fuel Bowser will be used to service generators (stationary and mobile), and support equipment such as Flood Lights.
7. When do you require something for?
- If it’s referring to when we require the use of the Fuel Bowser?
It’s required during routine maintenance, Power Outages, and natural events.
