About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity W50S8V-26-Q-0004 regarding pneumatic compressor installation services at the 167th Airlift Wing, Shepherd Field, Martinsburg, West Virginia.

The contractor must remove and replace a 75 horsepower direct-driven rotary screw air compressor operating at 460 volts, along with installing a new government-provided air dryer. Both the compressor and dryer must be located on the second floor of a maintenance hangar. The new compressor must include an internal or external air dryer with pre and post filters and new zero-loss drains, sized to industry standard specifications for a 75hp compressor at 3-phase 460-volt power. The contractor is responsible for all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary for the complete installation, including electrical work, piping, ductwork, and rigging. The contractor must disconnect old ductwork and reconnect new or existing ductwork; if old ductwork cannot be salvaged, new ductwork must be installed. Removal of the old compressor and two dryers from the work site must comply with all state and federal regulations. The contractor must conform to AFOSH and OSHA standards. Since the delivery dock and compressor room are on different floors, equipment will likely require a telehandler and rigging team for installation on the second floor. Supporting photographs depict the maintenance hangar exterior, delivery entrance, existing compressor and dryer equipment, and the enclosure housing for the compressor system.
