About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document from a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the installation of washer/dryer equipment. The document addresses seven clarification questions posed by contractors regarding electrical, plumbing, and installation requirements for an Alliance Laundry Systems SS030E-A washer/dryer unit.
Key requirements established through these answers include: the contractor must furnish and install a 120/208V 80A single phase 2-pole circuit breaker in panel L1A1; the contractor shall determine electrical conductor size and conduit type based on NEC requirements and manufacturer recommendations; the dryer vent exterior wall penetration must be both fire-rated and weatherproofed; all interior wall penetrations within firewalls must maintain fire rating upon completion; and existing plumbing and electrical infrastructure has sufficient capacity to support the new equipment without requiring additional upgrades. The document confirms that manufacturer specifications for the Alliance Laundry Systems unit are attached as reference material for completing the installation work.
