About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers document addressing contractor inquiries regarding a classroom fixed seating installation project at the 180th Fighter Wing in Swanton, Ohio. The project involves the removal and disposal of 33 existing chairs and the professional installation of new fixed seating in a 35' x 24' classroom. The contractor is responsible for procuring the new chairs, which must meet minimum specifications including floor-mounted powder-coated steel standards, durable plastic outer shells, upholstered cushions, and integrated folding tablet arms with plastic laminate tops. Installation must occur during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday), and work should be completed by July 1, with approximately one week allocated between removal and installation phases to accommodate carpet replacement by others. New concrete anchors are required rather than existing floor-mounted hardware.
The solicitation is structured as a firm-fixed-price contract with separate line-item breakouts for labor, materials, and disposal. Contractors may utilize subcontractors subject to FAR 52.219-14(e)(2) review. Access requirements include U.S. citizenship, a current valid REAL ID license, and vehicles will be subject to 100 percent search upon base entry. The Government will manage scheduling coordination with the flooring contractor and will ensure existing mounting holes are patched and the floor is reconditioned prior to final seating installation. Site visits are optional and available upon request. Secure on-site storage is available for delivered chairs prior to installation.
