Questions and Answers W50S8R-24-R-5005 Paint Booth

Q 1: What type of paint booth is this?

A 1: See attached photos

Q 2: Is it an abrasive media blaster?

A 2: No just a paint booth

Q 3: Could you please provide the dimensions of the media blaster if not pictures can be provided?

A 3: The size is 12’hx14’wx23.5’ long

Q 4: Can a drawing of the paint booth be provided?

A 4: We can provide pictures, a drawing is just going to be a rectangle with the above dimensions laid out.

Q 5: Are the contents in the booth to be removed and discarded along with the booth itself?

A 5: No just the paint booth. Items will be removed.

Q 6: The solicitation states that the Paint Booth is to be disassembled and taken to Blue Scope for recycling; are all components inside the paint booth also required to be taken to Blue Scope for recycling?

A 6: no

Q 7: Shall the venting system be removed entirely, through the roof penetration or capped off below the ceiling?

A 7: Capped off below the ceiling

Q 8: What is the termination plan for the existing ductwork going into the top of the booth? Is all of the ductwork going to be required to be removed or will the piping be capped below the roof?

A 8: Capped below the roof.

Q 9: If all existing ductwork is to be removed, please provide a detail for the roof/roofing assembly to match.

A 9: N/A

Q 10: Is it acceptable to remove the vertical sections of pipe that run to the top of the booth and plug at the elbows and T’s?

A 10:Yes

Q 11:Are we to cap the roof vent, or does the roof need to be replaced?

A 11: Roof vent can remain in-place.

Q 12: Are any utilities still hooked up and active at the booth, i.e. fire suppression system and electrical?.

A 12: Electric has been disconnected. Water and air have been shut off, may need drained

Q 13: Is the electrical service to the booth still active?

A 13: No

Q 14: Will a licensed electrician be needed to disconnect?

A 14: No

Q 15: Is the sprinkler line still active? Will the system require draining prior to removal?

A 15: Not active, may have water in the system.

Q 16: What is the termination plan for the sprinkler piping going into the top of the booth?

A 16: Disconnect and cap up near the ceiling.

Q 17: What is the extent of sprinkler pipe to be removed?

A 17: Nearest practical fitting. (i.e. “T” or elbow)
