RESPONSE: The interior CMU walls on plan view 1 / S108 and detail 10 / S003 show the purlins bracing the top of the CMU wall. CMU wall not to apply vertical loads to roof purlins. Purlins only to be used as a lateral brace for stability of full height of CMU wall. The lateral loads applied by the CMU wall to the roof purlins is equal to a 10 psf internal wind pressure.
QUESTION 93:
Can there be x-bracing for the interior crane columns (perhaps in the bays near the CMU wall?) or do they prefer a portal frame to keep the building open between crane portion and other side
RESPONSE: We can accept x-bracing but the GC is required to provide complete coordination drawings of all trades. However, portal frame is preferred.
QUESTION 94:
Vehicle Maintenance building calls out x-bracing in bay with walkdoor. Can we move (or remove) this door or do we need to use partial height portal frame to give clearance above doors?
RESPONSE: PEMB designer to accommodate the man door opening for braced bay location.
Coordinate with architectural drawings for door location.
QUESTION 95:
Are there any additional specs available for the joint sealant required at the control joints and construction joints at the interior concrete slab on grade? Do these need to meet any kind of chemical resistance, etc?
RESPONSE: Add the following paragraph to specification section 079200, paragraph 2.3 for sealant type at interior concrete slab on grade: B. Single-Component, Self-leveling, Nonsag, Urethane Joint Sealant: ASTM C 920, Type S, Grade P, Class 25, for Use T. Fed Spec: TTS-00230C, Type 1, Class A.
