QUESTION 110:

Drawings C103 indicates the Concrete Apron at the South East corner of the building is to have Embedded Rails and to reference the Structural Drawings. Drawing S502 detail 1 shows 6 Embedded Rails and 2 Embedded angle. Does this occur in only 1 apron or will this occur at each overhead door on the South East Apron? To obtain a 10 year warranty for a 30,000# gross load requires a minimum 60,000# capacity dock leveler as dock levelers are rated at 2 times the gross loads. The largest capacity mechanical dock leveler would be a 50,000# capacity, any capacity above that would be a hydraulic unit. Please clarify the length of warranty, the required gross load and whether the leveler is mechanical or hydraulic.

Response: Mechanical dock leveler per specification with manufacturers stand warranty is acceptable.

QUESTION 121:

Drawing A105 detail 1 and A106 detail 1 calls for an 18” double lock standing seam roof system. Due to valleys and double lock system is difficult to make watertight and may not be the best system for valleys. The super lock system is a better standing seam when valleys are associated with the standing seam roof. The prices for either are very similar. I have attached a specification sheet for both the designer of record to review. Is it acceptable to use super lock system as opposed to the double lock system specified?

RESPONSE: Provide manufacturers standard system that conforms with the specifications; an alternate can be acceptable (as part of post award submittal process). Double lock seams can be used in valleys.

Specifications dictate that the metal roofing systems at all three roofs be from the same manufacturer.

QUESTION 122:

The specifications for the DL324 panel and the SL216 roof panel are attached below. We would prefer to run super lock panels since there is a valley condition on the middle building. Double lock roofs do not fit together properly at valley conditions. It would require a lot of field work if we go with the double lock system to make sure everything is sealed up. Cost wise, there is not much difference between the two.

RESPONSE: see response to Question 121 above.
