Question – Replace Hydrants

Q1 When is this work slated to start? (there is a 3-4 week lead time on the Kupferle hydrant) Work would be expected to begin as soon as possible. Once award occurs the NTP will be given based on expected lead times.

Q2 Is the existing Main Line feeding the hydrant valve and assembly able to be shut down for safety purposes?

(A hydrant can not safely be removed without knowing if the main feeding the hydrant line is operational due to head pressure) Yes, the main can be isolated for periods of time to be determined/scheduled with the KO prior to start of construction.

Q3 Is there a distance between the existing main line and the location of the proposed hydrant assemblies?

(This is needed so we can provide the correct amount of pipe between the main and hydrant locations) Please see plan

Q4 The SOW states that the main line is an existing 20" main, are there already reducers in place to go from the existing 20" main down to 6" for the Clowe Eddy hydrant and down to 4" for the Kupferle Eclipse flushing hydrant? Yes the hydrants branches are 6” and 4” respectively. The existing 6” and 4” valves are to remain.

Q5 Are there any physical drawings showing existing utilities, location of work to be done Ect..? Please see plan

Q6 Do we know what the existing main line pipe is, Ductile Iron, Cast Iron, Plastic, Or Transite? Ductile Iron
