Questions and Answers for W50S8A-23-Q-0013 SCIF Furniture

1. The Basis for Design spreadsheet does not match the totals on the BOM spreadsheet. Which one should we use? Also, there’s some product that is in the Basis of Design attachment that is not listed on the BOM spreadsheet. Are these needed? We assume they are to be picked-up on W50S8A-23-

Q-0019 Phase 2 Furniture MPC.

A: Yes, the furniture is broken into three separate phases based on when the construction will be complete.

2. For C1 high back task chair, would you consider an upholstered seat if the back was a mesh material and warranted for a 24/7 use? Also, confirm the quantity is 111 or 73? Do you want a grey tone frame or would black be acceptable? Aluminum base?

A: Yes, it would be considered. Quantity is 73. Black would be acceptable.

3. For C2 high back task chair, would you consider an upholstered seat if the back was a mesh material and warranted for a 24/7 use? Also, confirm the quantity is 28 or 8? Do you want a grey tone frame or would black be acceptable? Aluminum base?

A: 24 total. Mesh or upholstered is fine. Aluminum or black is fine.

6. C7 Lounge Chair is missing from the BOM spreadsheet. Is this item to be included in the bid?

A: None for this bid.

7. C8 Daybed, please confirm quantity. Do you need sealed seams or moisture barrier? Will you allow a slight variance on the dimensions? Would you consider standard laminate vs HPL on front panel or upholstered? Would you accept self-skinned urethane arms?

A: 1 daybed. Moisture barrier would be perfect. Variance of 4 inches or less should be fine.

Please clarify, “Would you accept self-skinned urethane arms?”

All workstations references “workstation requirements and configurations shall be in accordance with the furniture layout and typical workstation types show in drawings.” Is there a layout drawing that can be provided? Is there a CAD file available? It also references a BVD Analysis: Performance

Criteria, but there is no attachment labeled with that. Please confirm quantity.

A: Layout will be sent after award. Reference PDF pg. 23-25 of B264_Furniture SOW for layout.

23. The orange bar across the page references a “technical performance criteria.” Is there a separate attachment that shows that?

A: Please clarify this question.

24. D2A/2B are missing from the BOM spreadsheet. Is this item to be included in the bid? They both look like in the drawing the desk is to be height adjustable, but there is no reference to that in the description. Would you like the desk to be height adjustable? What is the unit against the wall? Is that a wall unit? Does it have storage on the wall? There looks to be accessories on the desk. Are they to be included in the specification? If so, please provide details.

25. D3 looks like it has a 66H panel all around, but the description states 30”h. Which one should we pay closer attention to? The written description or the image?

A: The surrounding panel should be 67”h, the 30”h is in reference to desk/workspace height.

26. Are we to provide typical pricing, or pricing per the layout? If per layout, please provide a layout of the workstation clusters.

A: Typical pricing.

27. Please provide more detailed information on the workstations. The BVD says to refer to the furniture layout and typical workstation types, which were not provided.

b. What type of storage is required (pedestals, overhead, etc.) – no storage required

c. D1 – is glass required, per the image? No glass is required…it can be a solid panel or a built in white board.

A: Power is required, two duplexes per workstation. No storage required for D3 and D4 workstations. Glass is not required for the D1 workstations.

28. D2A/D2B – Is the desk to be height adjustable? What are the dimensions of the worksurfaces? Are the dimensions provided overall, including the storage tower?

A: D2A/D2B workstations are not included in this bid.

29. T1 – the dimensions on the FID are for 42”W x 96”L. The dimensions on the BOM are 42”x120”. Please confirm the correct size.

A: 42”x96”

30. T2 – the dimensions on the FID are for 32”W x 96”L. The dimensions on the BOM are 42”x96”. Please confirm the correct size.

A: 36”x96”

31. Is there a floorplan / furniture layout pdf? Depending on how many workstations are in a row will depend on how many end panels / shared walls we need to quote.

A: Reference PDF pg. 23-25 of B264_Furniture SOW for layout. Layout will be sent after award.

32. Is there a specific manufacturer they have in mind for the below?

34. For workstation D1 is a flipper door acceptable for the overhead storage?

A: Yes

35. Are two duplex outlets acceptable for each of the workstations?

36. For T10 and T13 are corded power blocks acceptable?

37. Design Services: Has actual interior design been performed for this project? If so, you have their specs that you’ve already paid-for and can provide to us bidders. Licensed NCIDQ designers perform the layout in AutoCAD and can provide you with drawings and specs.

A: USACE subcontracted the interior designer approximately 2018/2019 when they designed the building itself and they built the furniture plans IAW blueprints. The B264 SOW is what we received and has the most current information. We are not familiar with what NCIDQ is but doubt the subcontracted interior designs were that. We do not have any AutoCAD drawings, but reached out to CE who reached out to USACE to see if they have any.

38. T9 Command Console: So you can get a true “apples-to-apples” comparison, can we get the true design of the command console? SOW says “Not actual layout.”

A: It looks like this design was based on a Winsted control console in 2018/19. If you follow that generic design and utilize those measurement guidelines, but that there is a lot of room for interpretation. IT seems to be one huge console with two adjustable height desks and then a peninsula added.

39. D1 Desking System: Do you have a current design for this product? Shared Panel Factors are critical when designing this product. We can lower our bid price to you if we can identify which panels will be shared. This cannot be determined on a site visit. It is determined by the design that has already been done.

A: Floor plans will be sent once the contract is awarded. It looks like the “L shaped” workstations are meant to be 6x6 ft but have a 3 in give on either side for the wall thickness.

40. AutoCAD Drawings: This file will help every vendor develop their quote without having to do a site visit. We do projects around the globe without stepping foot on the project site until the project is won. Helps us keep our costs down. When we win, we do a site visit to check critical dimensions and field verify the space. Can we get an AutoCAD file?

A: We do not have AutoCAD drawings of B264, layout of B264 with measurements will be sent after award of contract.
