About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for Aircraft Sunshades, solicitation number W50S81-25-Q-A011, issued by the Massachusetts Air National Guard 104th Fighter Wing. The solicitation is for an Indefinite Delivery, Definite Quantity (IDDQ) contract for commercial aircraft sunshades, specifically a Firm-Fixed Price, single award contract that is 100% set aside for small businesses. The RFI includes key questions and answers, notably specifying that metal-covered sunshades are required, and fabric-covered sunshades will be considered technically unacceptable. Vendors are directed to consult the Performance Work Statement (PWS) section 5.1 for detailed sunshade specifications, with specific size and material requirements outlined in section 5.1.1. Interested small businesses should contact SMSgt Freeman Knowlton and MSgt Nathan Staples at 104.FW.MSC@us.af.mil for further information about the solicitation.

W50S81-25-Q-A011 Aircraft Sunshades Q&A for RFI Q: What size sunshade is desired per plane?
A: Please refer to PWS section 5.1.1 for sunshade specifications.
Q: Is the government open to considering fabric covered sunshades in lieu of metal covered sunshades? If not, is there a reason for precluding fabric covers?
A: Based on past Air Force requirements for F-35 aircraft for both fabric and metal covered sunshades, the 104 FW selected metal as a best fit for requirement W50S81-25-Q-A011. Quotes offering fabric covering will be considered not Technically Acceptable. Please refer to PWS section 5.1 for sunshade specifications.
