About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a repair project for the Chaplain's Office in Building 5046 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The project has two primary objectives: (1) relocate the fire suppression line in the building's storage area, and (2) create three doorways in the chaplain gathering space. The work will be performed by the 126th Air Refueling Wing Civil Engineer Squadron and involves precise technical specifications including fire protection system modifications, demolition of CMU block walls, and installation of new door openings.

Key requirements include coordinating with base fire and civil engineering teams, ensuring compliance with UFC and NFPA standards, conducting system tests, and maintaining building integrity throughout the project. The contractor must provide detailed submittals, follow strict safety protocols, and complete work within a negotiated performance period. The project involves careful fire suppression system relocation, including verifying system specifications, installing new risers, adding sprinkler drops, and conducting hydrostatic and flow tests. The total project scope is focused on preparing the building for future troop training activities while maintaining operational safety and functionality.
