W50S7H24B0001 – LRXY109002; Construct Fire Crash Rescue Station RFIs

1. Main Station (MF1.0, MF1.1, MF1.2, MF2.0, MF2.1) TB1 and TB6 what are the power requirements for each of these tables? No specific items are listed as far as power in the table, however, it requests wire management and drawing appears to show a power unit within the table tops. It also mentions in the spec "contractor will plug cables into wall" Please clarify. OFF3 - Drawing shows these desks to be wall to wall, however, spec only requests 2 - 30x96 tables. Wall dimension shows 8'-0" on south wall, and 13'-4-3/8" on north wall. Please clarify. OFF2 and OFF2B - are tasklights and tackboards required? OFF5 - plan appears to show a divider panel however it is not requested in the specifications. Please clarify. OFF1 and OFF4 requests a crank adjustment on the height adjustable table however since the original specs were issued, this item has been discontinued. Is an electronic adjustable table acceptable?

Item CH5 is only sold in cartons of 4. To be able to supply this item, we would have to purchase both Main Station and Satellite station at the same time. Satellite Station (SF1.2 & 2.0) OFF2B - Are tackboards and tasklights required under overheads? OFF6 - The dimension on plan (SF1.2) shows a span of 13'-5", however, the spec on SF2.0, requests only a 30x96 surface which will only give 32" per person and not span the length of the wall as shown. Which is correct?

Main TB1. The wire management needed at TB1 is 1 standard option grommet per table.

Main TB 6. The Grommet, Wire Management for TB6 is 1 standard option Node accessory with one standard outlet and one outlet with 1 USB, 1 USB 4.

Main OFF 3. Use the Dock Training Table Tops to achieve the continuous worksurface dimensions shown in the plans. More than one top will be needed and will need to be cut to fit and coordinate with the supports specified.

Main OFF 2/2B. No tasklights or tackboards are specified or required.

Main OFF 5. Disregard the apparent panel between the vacant workspace and other workspaces shown in the plan.

Main OFF 1 and OFF 4 height adjustable tables. Provide standard electric height adjustment mechanism.

Satellite OFF2B. No tasklights or tackboards are specified or required.

Satellite OFF6. Use the Dock Training Table Tops to achieve the continuous worksurface dimensions shown in the plans. More than one top will be needed and will need to be cut to fit and coordinate with the supports specified.

2. Solicitation section 52.217-7 states "The Contracting Officer may exercise the option by written notice to the Contractor within 150 days of contract award…If an option is exercised, the base period of performance will not be extended." We are requesting this requirement be removed due to the lead times of equipment procurement which will not allow for this requirement in the contract documents to be met. IN addition, the Standard Form 1442 states that the Offers have to hold their pricing for 90 days. The requirements of the solicitation 52.217-7 & Standard

Form 1442 combined equate to 240 calendar days to hold our pricing. The maximum we are seeing that subcontractors & vendors will only hold pricing for is 30 calendar days. We are requesting that the 150 days to award options be removed from this project and that options are only awardable at contract award.

Due to the availability of funding, the timelines to hold quotes and exercise options must remain. We have a reasonable expectation that options will be made with award.

3. Can the AWIQCP requirement be removed from the casework. I’m unable to get quotes with this in place. I have searched on the AWIQCP website to show me certified millwork companies within 500 miles of Flowood and their website has 0 companies found.

Section 06 41 00, 1.06,B. Delete this paragraph and all of its subparagraphs in their entirety. Compliance with the AWIQCP program is NOT required.

4. Can you confirm where the architecturally exposed structural steel is? We are not seeing any callouts in the sheets or specs or specific locations

Section 05 12 13, 1.03, A. This paragraph describes the scope of the Architecturally- Exposed Structural Steel Framing. To clarify this scope, replace the text in this paragraph with the following:

“This specification shall apply to structural steel and steel fabrications that are exposed to user view from any habitable floor space. Exposed architectural steel shall be constructed, handled, and erected as directed herein. This shall be done in conformity with the American Institute of Steel Construction Specification for the Design, Fabrication, and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings. Because these members so designated are subject to close inspection by the public, the fabrication tolerances in this specification shall govern when such tolerances are in conflict with those of the AISC Specification.”

5. Where is panel SDP located, is it part of this project?

The SPD is not a panel. It is a surge protection device. Locate SPD adjacent to the panel or origination.

6. What size & type cable tray is required for this project? Spec say cable tray is existing.

Provide 18” wide, 4” tall, steel mesh wire (basket) tray. Length as required.

7. What is the existing key system for the hardware? Is it best cylinder or Shlage?

See Section 08 71 00, 2.04, B.

8. Can you provide us with information pertaining to door type D4? Can we replace this with a typical hollow metal door as our vendor has never heard of this type of door.

Door D4 is an insulated single metal door with panels per 1/MA10.0 and 1/SA10.0. See details on A10.2.

9. Plans show the new primary on plan sheet SES.1 running to an existing manhole and them thru another to get to the existing 15KV gear. Do you know if there is existing conduit between the 2 existing manholes or do we have to provide new conduit?

Reason I am asking is do we have to following that path or can we make our own route? Saw cutting up and patching the existing road would be required if we go via existing manholes.

There are spares between the manholes and the building with the Medium Voltage Gear. Utilize these spares.

10. Change Type 1 Wall Panel type from Mechanically Seamed 2” to Snap Lock 1 3/4".

Section 07 42 13, 2.01, A, 1. Change Architectural Metal Roof Systems SLR 16" to Architectural Metal Wall System SWL-16-2.

Section 07 42 13, 2.02, B, 1. Change 2” to 1 3/4". Change SLR (2”) to SWL (1 3/4").

Section 07 43 13, 2.02, B, 2. Change Mechanically Seamed, sealed with continuous factory applied sealant to Snap-Lock seams on concealed cleats.

11. Curtain wall sun screen louvers depth.

Sun screen louvers are 9” deep typical.
