About this file
This document is a draft Design Statement of Work (SOW) for the repair and renovation of Building 1523, the Munitions Maintenance Admin and Trailer Maintenance facility, at the Idaho Air National Guard's Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho. The purpose of the project is to provide Type B design documents for renovations to create more functional administrative and training space, including adequate restrooms, locker rooms, and showers.
The SOW outlines the facility function, scope, construction cost, occupancy, hours of operation, and design objectives. It requires the design to consider blast protection measures due to the facility's location within an explosives clear zone. Key design objectives include converting a trailer maintenance bay into administrative space, increasing restroom fixtures, adding locker rooms and a control room, and including multipurpose conference/training space. The SOW also specifies required facility and infrastructure upgrades such as a backup generator, fire detection/suppression, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems. The A-E firm is required to provide various design deliverables at 65%, 95%, and final design stages, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and narratives.
