About this file

This document specifies the salient characteristics for the procurement of eleven (11) queen-sized latex mattresses. The mattresses must measure 60 inches in width by 80 inches in length, with a thickness profile between 9.0 and 16.0 inches to accommodate standard deep-pocket bedding. The core material must be constructed of 100% natural or blended latex using either Talalay or Dunlop process construction to ensure long-term structural integrity and prevent sagging typical of traditional innerspring systems.

The mattresses must feature instantaneous deflection recovery for dynamic contouring to adapt to varying body shapes and sleep positions, targeted pressure-point mitigation for shoulders, hips, and lower back to optimize spinal alignment, and thermal regulation through open-cell structure or active ventilation channels to maintain neutral sleep temperature. The latex material and cover must be chemically compatible with hospital-grade disinfectants and military-issued sanitizing wipes for rapid sanitization between crew shifts. Additionally, the mattresses must be naturally antimicrobial, antibacterial, dust-mite resistant, and hypoallergenic to support multi-user public health standards. The mattresses must require no periodic maintenance and include a manufacturer's lifetime warranty or minimum 10-year non-prorated warranty covering sagging, physical flaws, and material degradation. All units must meet or exceed federal flammability standards 16 CFR Part 1633 and 16 CFR Part 1632.

Salient Characteristics for Mattresses

• Quantity: Eleven (11) units.

• Size: Standard Queen.

• Width: 60 inches (nominal).

• Length: 80 inches (nominal).

• Thickness (Profile): Height range allowed between 9.0 inches and 16.0 inches to accommodate standard deep-pocket bedding.

• Material Core: Must be constructed of 100% natural or blended latex (Talalay or Dunlop process) to ensure long-term structural integrity and prevent the sagging/pocketing typical of traditional innerspring systems.

• Adaptive Support: Must feature instantaneous deflection recovery (dynamic contouring) to instantly adapt to varying body shapes and sleep positions without retaining permanent body impressions.

• Pressure Relief: Must provide targeted pressure-point mitigation (shoulders, hips, and lower back) to optimize spinal alignment and physical recovery for shift personnel.

• Thermal Regulation: Must feature open-cell structure or active ventilation channels to draw excess heat away from the sleeper and maintain a neutral sleep temperature.

• Disinfection Compatibility: Latex material and cover must be chemically compatible with hospital-grade disinfectants and standard military-issued sanitizing wipes to allow rapid sanitization between rotating crew shifts.

• Hypoallergenic Properties: Must be naturally antimicrobial, antibacterial, dust-mite resistant, and hypoallergenic to support multi-user public health standards.

• Maintenance: Must be maintenance-free (no periodic flipping or rotating required to maintain the structural warranty).

• Warranty: Must include a manufacturer's lifetime warranty (or minimum 10-year non-prorated warranty) covering sagging, physical flaws, or material degradation.

• Fire Safety: Must meet or exceed federal flammability standards 16 CFR Part 1633 and 16 CFR Part

1632.
