The following have been modified:
QUALIFYING STATEMENT
Qualifying Statement for Lecithin Liquid Loss-In-Weight (LLIW) Feed System, Large Mixer
Material Specifications:
1. Name: Lecithin
2. Material must be heated to 80-90 degF in order to flow
3. Viscosity: similar to Karo Syrup once heated
4. Density: similar to Karo Syrup once heated
5. Batching system set-up
Lecithin liquid loss in weight Overview:
Lecithin will require a reservoir tank capable of holding approximately 10 gal of the liquid and two separate heating stations for a batch set-up. It will dispense into a 2” port (Sanitary tri-clamp connection) on large shear mixer that should have minimum back pressure. Accuracy of the LLIW system must be +/-0.5% with a sample target weigh of 18.3 lb. Unit must be capable of dispensing a full batch within a 5 minute timeframe. The entire feed system would need to maintain the heat up to the point of dispensing into the large shear mixer.
Predictive maintenance sensor requirements:
Equipment and systems shall be provided with component (i.e. motors, pumps, etc.) level condition based monitoring (CbM) sensors or at minimum the applicable ports or attachment points for these type sensors. These sensors shall be suitable for monitoring the overall health of the component and used for collecting data on operational conditions, for example, usage, thermal variation, vibration, noise intensity, etc. For example an electric motor should be constructed in such a way to incorporate thermal and vibratory monitoring sensors and pillow block type bearings should incorporate temperature sensors. These sensors will ultimately be used to provide data for a predictive maintenance (PdM) program. Any control system should be capable of communicating using Ethernet over IP protocol and should be expandable to accommodate future expansion. This shall be applicable for all components of a system except where the nature of the system is detrimental to the life of the sensor for example sensors on a vibratory motor.
Lecithin liquid loss in weight Specifications:
Coperion K-Tron type K-ML-D5-P-10gal (or similar) Power supply: 208V 60Hz 1ph Weigh system:
o D5 platform weigh scale with capacity ~200 KG gross KCM III controller o keypad o Ethernet capability o Display for DC drives with remote mounting o 4-20 mA I/O
Gear pump o Model Witte Chem 92.6-56-56 92.6CC/rev o Dynapar speed encoder o DC-motor XP 1 hp motor
Tank o Heated 10 gal tank capacity o 316SS matte finish o Auto refill bolted cover and controls o 2” opening o Support legs o Shutoff valve w/ cleanout port o Drain valve and discharge support o Discharge flex hose to pump
Electrical Requirements:
All motor controller inputs must have 4-20 mA input capability All electrical components shall meet Class I, DIV I and Class II, DIV I, Groups C,D,E,F, and G requirement (Explosion Proof Criteria)
DETAILED DESCRIPTION REQUIRED PRIOR TO AWARD:
The MCAAP Engineering Support Division will validate and verify/approve the contractor’s listed equipment concept before award is granted. In order to meet this review requirement, the offeror shall submit with their proposal a detailed technical description. The offeror’s description submittal shall account for each one of the required product features located in this qualifying statement. Conceptual drawings that are not detail “as built” drawings are required for submittal with the detailed description.
Approval drawing(s) is/are requested. 3D models requested, can be in native Solidworks format, IGES, and/or STEP within 4-6 weeks after award.
