About this file

This document contains questions and answers from interested vendors regarding a Sources Sought notice for the US Army's Fixed Site Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS). The Q&A reveals that this is not a new effort, with the current contract number being W31P4Q-30-D-0032. The system primarily uses RF-based defeat capabilities, though future versions may incorporate other solutions based on evolving threats and requirements. The government clarified they are seeking a single source for the entire scope rather than splitting the work among multiple contractors.

The related opportunity description indicates the Army is seeking a contractor to develop, deploy and support the FS-LIDS system, which includes Coyote Missiles, Electronic Warfare systems, cameras, and radar systems. Key requirements include maintaining over 100 systems, providing CONUS/OCONUS support starting January 2026, operator training, spare parts management, and producing at least 90 new systems over five years. The contractor must have SECRET facility clearance, ISO 9001 certification, and expertise to support system integration without a Technical Data Package. The NAICS code is 334511 and responses were due 15 days from posting.

Can you provide any amplifying information regarding this RFI? Will high energy laser weapons be considered for this system, or is it RF defeat only?
The intent is to cover engineering, production and sustainment of existing and approved versions of FS-LIDS which is an RF solution but also cover development, production and sustainment of other versions developed in response to threat and requirement changes which could include other solutions but would still include the sustainment of the current RF based systems.

Will you consider working with a US based supplier of standards-based hardware of the type typically used for such systems, even though they do not provide a complete solution (instead they offer a full ecosystem of building blocks that are all designed and built in the USA)?
The USG is looking for a source for the entire scope of the RFI and is not currently interested in splitting the work up into multiple efforts.
