About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Request for Quotation (RFQ) W15QKN25Q0016, issued by the United States Army Contracting Command - New Jersey for lodging services for the 338th Military Intelligence Battalion. The RFQ requires a single lodging facility within 5 miles of Camp Bullis, Texas, to accommodate 770 total room-nights during a 14-day period from July 14-28, 2025. The specific room configuration mandates 2 single rooms and 53 double rooms per day, with a firm requirement that all accommodations must be in one facility, not split across multiple locations.

The Q&A clarifies critical details about the lodging requirements, specifically addressing potential vendor questions about location proximity and room allocation. The government explicitly reaffirmed that hotels must be within 5 miles of Camp Bullis and rejected proposals to distribute rooms across multiple facilities. For room types, the solicitation specifies 2 single rooms (with no specific bed size requirement) and 53 double rooms daily, totaling 770 room-nights for the entire contract period. Vendors must carefully adhere to these precise specifications when preparing their quotes for this military lodging contract.

W15QKN-25-Q-0016 338th MI Bn Lodging Camp Bullis, TX 78257 Q&A

1. Q: According to the solicitation specifications, the hotel must be within 5 miles of Camp Bullis. However, it is not feasible to secure a hotel within that distance. The nearest available hotels are approximately 7 miles away, and the most suitable options are in downtown San Antonio, which is about 25 miles from Camp Bullis. Can you please confirm if hotels within this range are acceptable?

A: No, in accordance with paragraph 4(a) of the Statement of Work “ The lodging facility shall be within a 5 mile radius of Camp Bullis, TX 78257” .

1. Q: The solicitation requests 770 rooms, and the Scope of Work (SOW) suggests preference for accommodations in a single facility. Unfortunately, based on our market assessment, this is not feasible. Would it be acceptable to split accommodations across 4 to 6 facilities?

A: The 770 room total includes the amount of rooms needed for the entirety of the lodging. For example 2 single rooms and 53 double rooms will be required for each day for a total of 55 rooms. As the lodging will be for 14 nights (55 rooms x 14 nights = 770 rooms). It is not acceptable to split the accommodations across multiple facilities or this requirement.

1. Q: Can you please confirm the required breakdown of room types ?

-How many rooms should be king bed (for single occupancy) ?

-How many should be double bed (for double occupancy/service members sharing)?

A: In accordance with paragraph 6 of the Statement of Work, 2 single rooms and 53 double rooms will be required for this lodging. Regarding the accommodations for single rooms, there is no specific bed type required (King, Queen, Full size etc).
