QUESTION & ANSWERS
W15QKN-23-Q-5007
6 DEC 2022
Q1. Do you happen to have an inspection sheet from the current/former inspection company where it will give the date of manufacture/6yr maintenance?
A1. This information is not available at this time.
Q2. Section 7.3 states that, “The contractor shall perform a hydrostatic test on all fire extinguishers during the initial inspection and an annual inspection the following years in accordance with the latest published edition of NFPA 10”
I’d like to clarify on your use of initial inspection. Per NFPA 10, the extinguishers only need to be hydrostatically tested on the 12th year after manufacture. If you meant initial inspection as in when they were new and put into service, they would not need that. Do you mean initial inspection as in the first inspection we are performing for your facility? Or do you just mean that you want them performed at the 12th year regardless of your definition of initial?
A1. It will be an annual inspection to existing units, to my understanding these are not new extinguishers. It’s just a yearly inspection but will be performed initially as in the base period and/or when you receive the contract. Please let me know if this doesn’t clarify your question and I will try to further explain.
