Question and Response(s)
Snow and Ice Removal Services – W15QKN-21-Q-5012
Q1. Is there a place to pile the snow or will it be hauled away?
R1. Snow is typically pushed into the back of, and into the far unused corners, of the POV lot during normal snow events. It is to be removed when it takes up over 10% of parking area or snow banks are over 3ft high.
5.1.7 SNOW PLOW OPERATIONS. Snow plowing shall include the clearing of snow from the driveways and parking areas by pushing and piling the snow into adjacent areas. Snow shall be cleared from all walkways, doorways and gates to provide full opening and safe access for personnel and equipment. No snow piles shall be left in the plowed areas. The parking lot shall not have a reduction of more than 10% of parking spaces at the end of the storm as were there before the snow season began. At the parking lot entrances and exits, the snow shall be plowed back four (4) feet from the curb line/edge of pavement for traffic visibility. The snow banks shall not exceed three
(3) feet high in this areas. The contractor is responsible for relocation of excessive accumulation as necessary off site.
Q2. Can a parked trailer (provided by vendor) be on-site throughout the snow season for storage of equipment and supplies for services?
R2. Yes, there is space on this site available, however this is typically not done. The Government is not liable for any Contractor equipment left on site.
