Q1: Can the proposal be emailed in lieu of submitting 2 copies via mail?

A: Your proposal must be submitted via email.

Q2: Who is the incumbent contractor?

A: The incumbent contractor is Upper Valley Landscape, Inc.

Q3: What is the value of the most recent contract for this work?

A: The total award value of the previous contract was $30,100.

Q4: Can you please clarify the contract period as it pertains to Section 5.3 of the PWS, Schedule of Work? That section indicates the grounds maintenance period is March – November in the Southern Region and April – November in the Northern Region.

A: Massachusetts would be considered the Northern Region, therefore the maintenance period would be from April – November.

Q5: When was mowing, trimming, and edging last conducted? Will another cycle be completed prior to award of this contract?

A: The previous contract ended on 30 April 2018.

Q6: Section 5.4.1 of the PWS indicates grass shall be cut every 14 days or as directed by the COR. Is this the expectation regardless of grass growth rates (typically higher growth June-August vs. low-growth September – November)?

A: The expectation is every 14 days. However, prior to commencing any work, you shall submit a schedule to the COR. It will be at the COR’s discretion if there should be more cuts in the high growth time period and less in the low growth period. You must remain within the requirements of the PWS and should not exceed the 16 cuts as stated in the Mowing Line Item.
