1.) Does the 7x3 foot access gates need to be installed by us or are they existing gates? Answer: These gates are also known as access doors will be added in the netting. They are 3’ X 7” in size.
2.) What is the square feet measurement? Answer: See question 3.
3) Can we request the exact length and width of the area or areas to be installed? Answer: The measured height from the floor to the top beam is 14 ft 6 inches (174") with a perimeter of approximately 258 ft.
4) What is the time frame this project will take place? Answer: Completed NLT 60 days after award of the contract.
5) The current netting requirements favor only 1 manufacture, can a request for substitute be submitted if it meets or exceed the current specification? Answer: Yes, however the key words are meet or exceed the current specifications and a team from Fort Devens will make that determination based off of the information and specifications provided.
6. Does the netting need to be tight or just hanging? Answer: The endstate of the netting is that it should be mounted tight from the roof to the ground (reinforce Concrete). No sagging or slack.
7- Can you supply us with a blue print, diagram or drawings of the interior of the building where the work is to be performed. An accurate measurement is needed ( length and width) for accurate hardware and netting order. We need to identify how many concrete or metal attachments will be utilized. Answer: See photos and answer to question 3
8- Will there be anything protrusions through the netting? heaters, HVLS fans, conduit, piping, channel strut, electrical wiring, lights, etc. The more protrusions the longer the installation time. Answer: Yes rain down spouts (aka gutters), conduit, a site survey is highly recommended.
