About this file

This document is a Due Diligence Posting Notice from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) regarding their intent to contract with Viridity Energy Solutions Inc. for a project development and ISO operations partner to assist in developing power management and energy storage solutions for transit regenerative braking capture. The proposed 3-year phased contract includes an initial 12-month rollout pilot, followed by two years of technical project management and ISO market operations at a total cost of $0.00. The MBTA is seeking a partner that can provide a transit-industry tested and patented lithium-ion battery-based storage solution and enabling software to recover released train braking energy, reduce peak utility demand, and enable revenue-generating participation in ISO markets.

The proposed contract pricing is structured in three phases: Year 1 Pilot Rollout ($0.00), Year 2 Project Management & ISO Market Operations ($0.00), and Year 3 Project Management & ISO Market Operations ($0.00). The MBTA will determine the project resourcing on an annual basis based on the Project Manager's needs. The MBTA is utilizing this Due Diligence Posting to ensure the process is open, fair, and competitive, and is inviting any other interested and qualified vendors to submit documentation demonstrating their ability to provide a comparable or better offer.
