About this file
This document contains vendor questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity with the Department of the Army Medical Command. The key details are:
The solicitation is for chemistry and molecular testing services, including Chlamydia/Gonorrhea (CT/GC) testing, HPV testing, and HPV Genotyping (HPV GT). Accepted sample types include urine, vaginal, genital, oropharyngeal, throat, and rectal samples. The government currently uses a BD MAX instrument for vaginal panel testing, and is open to proposals to run all required tests on a BD COR instrument for workflow efficiency, although the vaginal panel is outside the stated scope of work. The solicitation indicates estimated annual test volumes for the required services, and requires 1-2 days of on-site training for designated personnel upon implementation, with additional training as needed. The laboratory operates Monday through Friday, 0630-1430 hours, and will run CT/GC 5 days per week and HPV/HPV GT 5 and 2 days per week, respectively.

Vendor Questions and answers
1. For the CT/GC test, what sample types will you be testing from? PAP Vial? Urine? Molecular Swab? OR all of the above?
Answer: Sample types include: urine, vaginal, male/ female genitalia, oropharyngeal, throat and rectal sites.
2. Eisenhower Army MC currently uses BD’s MAX instrument to run the Vaginal Panel. This test is also available to be run on the BD COR, which is the instrument we will be proposing for this RFP Response to run HPV and CT/GC. We feel that the automation and efficiency to be able to run all three of these tests on the COR would be a significant workflow advantage to the staff and ultimately the patients. Can we include the Vaginal Panel in our proposal, acknowledging it is outside the scope of the SOW?
Answer- Based on the current testing, vaginal panel or modification of the current process would be in line with our current mission requirement for patient services. Our BD MAX instrument is currently located within a separate and limited physical space. Our molecular testing requirement is sufficed within the virology section of our department. This section is separate from the current location of our BD MAX. The proposed BD COR instrument is an appropriate consideration so long as this instrumentation is implemented and operable within the above-mentioned virology section. This instrument will not be collocated or adjacent to the current BD MAX instrument.

4. We did not see a MDERA form attached to the solicitation. Is the latest version of the MDERA, version 6.0?
Answer-Document attached.
5. Can you clarify the volumes of testing for CT/GC, HPV, HPV GT? There are two different tables in the solicitation with two different requested test volumes. See tables below:
Answer- testing volumes can be confirmed utilizing the SOW. The SOW reflects estimated annual testing volumes.
6. What are the specific quantities of training required at implementation? Under what circumstances would additional training be required?
Answer- 1-2 designated personnel will require on-site training upon instrumentation implementation. Additional training may be required thereafter, if personnel instrumentation familiarization and/ or proficiency levels are not adequate and mission compromise results.
7. Can you confirm the operating hours of the Micro/Molecular Eisenhower Army Medical Center laboratory?
Answer- Operating Hours: 0630-1430 hours, Monday thru Friday. No weekends nor designated holidays.
8. How many days a week will the laboratory be running CT/NG?
Answer- CT/ GC will be running 5 days per week.
9. How many days a week will the laboratory be running HPV and HPV GT?
Answer-HPV will be running 5 days per week. HPV GT will be run twice per week.
