About this file

This document is a Limited Sources Justification for a federal contract award issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for CPT Chemistry and Immunochemistry instruments, reagents, and supplies. The contract (Award Number V797P-7347A 36C24525N0528) was awarded to Roche Diagnostics Corporation for $646,593.72, with an award date of April 1, 2025. The procurement is for the VA Maryland Health Care System, specifically supporting VISN 5 VA Health Care System in Baltimore and Perry Point, MD.

The justification indicates that the VA must continue using existing Roche CPT instruments for patient testing, with a new contract being procured. The contract is being awarded under the Multiple-Award Schedule Program, with justification based on the unique nature of the supplies and the requirement for compatibility with existing systems. Specifically, the reagents and supplies must be manufactured by Roche to ensure proper functionality with their instruments, as using alternative items could cause test failures or damage the existing equipment. The contract represents a follow-on to a previously competed Federal Supply Schedule contract, with the VA emphasizing the critical need to maintain continuous patient testing capabilities.
