Page of Rational/explanation to support cited authority This allows for standardization across the VISN and reduces the overall cost of the purchase eliminating costly extensive user training for Biomed and staff that will be needed for a different brand of infusion pumps. The Coatesville VA Medical Center currently has the laptop and software needed for the drug library and preventive maintenance testing software utilized on the PC units and modules that will integrate the newer versions seamlessly. Procuring the next generation of Alaris PC units and modules would financially be in the best interest of the Government while also meeting the needs of the patients and staff at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Market research was conducted by checking GSA, VIP, and NAC, there are no SDVOSB’s, VOSB’s, or small businesses authorized to distribute Alaris equipment. The manufacturer CareFusion is proprietary of the equipment supporting the research which shows pricing is fair and reasonable based on NAC Contract V797D-30183. Taking into consideration the current national emergency, economy, current pricing of the IGCE the contract specialist finds the pricing considered to be fair and reasonable.
