About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for an Extended Cargo Rail System (Part Number: V-22 Cargo Rail or Equal) required for aircraft cargo handling and pallet movement operations.
The Government seeks an aircraft-quality extended cargo rail system approximately 19 feet in length that is lightweight, durable, and suitable for mission requirements without requiring aircraft modification. The system must be deployable and storable without tools and must not require aircraft modification for installation or operation. Key technical specifications include: rollers positioned on approximately 4-inch centers with aluminum crowned barrel design and anti-friction bearings for smooth cargo movement; minimum load capacity of 5,000 pounds distributed over 88 inches and 2,500 pounds distributed over 40 inches; flip-up pallet guides running the entire length on both sides, sectionalized for ease of handling and maintenance, and adjustable inward and outward by approximately 7 inches in 1-inch increments to accommodate overall widths of 40 to 54 inches. The system shall be constructed of corrosion-resistant, aircraft-quality materials suitable for military operational environments, with design emphasis on operator safety, ease of installation, durability, and long service life. Vendors may submit equal products but must clearly demonstrate compliance with all salient characteristics and provide sufficient technical documentation, specifications, brochures, drawings, or product literature to support equality determination.
