About this file

This is a Sole Source Notice issued by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), a federal health sciences university located in Bethesda, Maryland. USU intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price commercial contract to Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc., located at 800 Research Parkway, Meriden, Connecticut 06450-7127, for a fully integrated RoboCount LAB/50 Automatic Sample Changer system paired with a Mirion N-Type Coaxial HPGe Detector GR4020. The proposed equipment is designed to support the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute's (AFRRI) mission-critical work in radiobiology, radiation safety, and nuclear event response through enhanced gamma spectrometry capabilities.

The sole source justification is based on Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc. being the sole manufacturer of the RoboCount LAB/50 Automatic Sample Changer system, with customization requirements that make competitive acquisition through an authorized distributor impractical. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(i), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for consideration. Responses must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and that the interested offeror can supply the stated needs. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. Specific response dates and contact information are referenced in the separate Notice of Intent to Sole Source document.
