A shade structure would be constructed over the plants to reduce summer radiaon. Shade structure would consist of 10 tall steel posts with support posts and guide cables (~29 holes) with concrete foongs installed 20 apart. Steel cable would be stretched between posts holding up shade cloth over the pallets and plants.

USFS staff would purchase materials and conduct all site development (weed barrier, pallets, plants, irrigaon system, and shade structure). USFS staff would visit site to establish and monitor plants during irrigaon season (2-3 mes/week), in late summer for leaf harvest, and in fall to prune. Addional visits may be needed for upgrades and repairs.
