Summary of Salient Characteristics for Rack Mounted UPS

This document is a technical specification sheet outlining the salient characteristics and performance requirements for rack-mounted Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.

The UPS shall be configured as a 19-inch rack-mount chassis (1U) with full depth construction, featuring an online double-conversion topology for zero transfer time and compliance with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461. The chassis must use ruggedized aluminum or steel construction with integrated front-panel rugged handles and optional heavy-duty rack slides. Electrical performance requirements include true online double conversion topology, scalable power capacity from 500VA to 5000VA, universal/auto-ranging input voltage (80-265 VAC or 3-Phase 208V/440V), input frequency of 47-65 Hz standard or 47-440 Hz for aircraft/field power compatibility, regulated 115 VAC output voltage, galvanic isolation with shielded internal input transformer, and high efficiency (0.9 to 1.0) with power factor correction.

Battery technology must employ Lithium-Ion (LFP) or VRLA chemistry with minimum 10-minute runtime at 100% full load, scalable via External Battery Modules (EBM), 5-10 year service life, hot-swappable internal battery drawers for maintenance without load interruption, and 90% capacity recovery within 2-4 hours. Environmental compliance includes MIL-STD-810G/H standards, MIL-STD-461F/G electromagnetic interference compliance, MIL-STD-1399-300B shipboard interface requirements, operating temperature range of -20°C to +55°C with extended ranges optional, and conformal PCB coating with sealed or weather-resistant chassis. Management features include Battleshort Mode for thermal shutdown override, SNMP/Ethernet/RS-232 remote monitoring, LED/LCD front-panel diagnostics, manual bypass switch for maintenance, and high-intensity audio alarms exceeding 90 dB for power failure or low battery conditions.
