SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS-

UHF FEED

Required Delivery Date: 26 October 2020 Required Award Date: 14 August 2020

One prime focus feeds for a prime focus parabolic antenna with f/D = 0.32. The feed must have dual circular polarization (Left Hand Circular Polarization/LCP and Right Hand Circular Polarization/RCP) and one port available for each. The frequency range of each port must be 240 MHz to 400 MHz. The VSWR across the range must have a maximum value of 1.7:1. The feed must be rated for a peak power of 50W maximum and an average power of 20W maximum under ideal conditions.

The feed must be amplitude pattern tested on an outdoor test range. The test records must include primary co-polarized amplitude radiation patterns in two orthogonal cut planes at the low, mid, and high points of the frequency band of each port for a total of 12 primary co-polarized amplitude patterns and on-axis axial ratio data at the low, mid, and high points of the frequency band at each respective port.

The feed must contain an integral mounting flange, the size, location, and design thereof must be approved by NRL Code 8124 prior to fabrication. The feed must be designed and finished to operate outdoors, with an operating temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius and 100% relative humidity. The feed finish should be chemical conversion per MIL-DTL-5541F, Type 1, Class 1A, color gold, with a white paint finish.
