About this file

This document is a detailed specification file for Type I-AD (Additional Duty) Ambulances, issued by the Equipment Leasing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The solicitation seeks bids for three (3) ALS Ambulances with comprehensive technical requirements. The specifications outline a detailed procurement process for fully equipped ambulances, including precise requirements for chassis, module construction, electrical systems, communications equipment, mechanical systems, and exterior/interior design. The ambulances must be new, meet specific KKK-A-1822 Federal Specifications, and comply with various safety and professional standards including Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) guidelines.

The procurement involves a Ford F-550 4x4 commercial chassis as the base vehicle, with extensive customization requirements for the ambulance module and equipment. Key pricing considerations include warranty provisions, including lifetime structural body warranty, six-year electrical and paint warranties, and fifteen-year interior cabinet warranty. Delivery is specified not to exceed 120 calendar days from chassis receipt, with detailed requirements for manufacturing inspections, including pre-construction, mid-build, and pre-delivery site visits by City representatives. The specification mandates specific equipment installations such as Stryker Power-Load cot systems, Motorola radios, Dell rugged tablets, and specialized medical and emergency response equipment, demonstrating a comprehensive and highly specific procurement approach tailored to Pittsburgh's Emergency Medical Services needs.
