As part of the strength conditioning program within Preservation of the Force and Family, 492d Training Support Squadron requires Removable Turf. This turf will be rolled out behind Bldg. 91006 on Hurlburt Field (589 Independence Rd.) but not adhered to concrete surface. We want to retain ability to roll up turf in significant inclement weather and put into indoor facility or physically move turf for different training options.

The turf area will be specifically used by Airmen for running, calisthenics, jumping, sled pushes and become extension of indoor training facility especially during peak training times.

Turf requires these salient qualities:

1. Turf will be synthetic and standard green color

2. Turf finished face weight of at least 40 ounces

3. Turf Rolls must be customized to cover 29 ft x 80 ft training area

4. Turf Fiber must by 100% polyethylene for durability

5. Turf tufted pile height of at least .56 inches

6. Turf fiber mass will be denier 5600 for durability/comfort

7. Primary backing must be at least 7.5 oz K29 stabilized multi-layer woven polypropylene for durability, overall weight and comfort for Airmen

8. Secondary backing must be at least 16-ounce DuraLock for durability/comfort

9. Total turf weight must be at least 63.5 oz

10. Turf must be marked with white yard lines every five yards

11. Turf rolls will have 2-inch Velcro along seams to allow rolls to be installed/moved easily

12. Turf will not contain running lanes

13. Turf will have minimum of 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects
