This document is a Salient Characteristics Sheet for a Transponder that will be integrated into Group 1 and Group 2 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) platforms. The related federal contract opportunity is a Sources Sought notice for a "TF99 Military IFF Transponder - UAS" requirement. The 1st Expeditionary Theater Support Group is conducting market research, as they claim there is only one vendor capable of meeting their needs. Responses should include company information, capability statements, and past performance. This is not a Request for Quotation, and the government will not compensate respondents. Responses are due by 4:30 PM EST on 12 Sep 2024.

Salient Characteristics Sheet – Transponder
Essential Physical characteristics Size: Width 47 mm, Height 0.5 mm, Depth 58.15 mm Weight: Less than 50 grams Power Draw: 1.5 Watts or less Transmit Power: 250 Watts
Essential Characteristics Must be AIMS certified. Needs to be compatible with Mode 3/A, C, S, and ADS-B Out. Designed for Group 1 and Group 2 UAS platforms as size, weight, and power (SWaP) are a priority. Can be integrated into an autopilot software.
Functions to be performed Transponder will be integrated into Group 1 and 2 UAS platforms that run off an open-source autopilot software. Transponder MUST be able to be turned on and off for various missions. Will be used as the primary method for traffic deconfliction in the airspace the UAS platforms will be operating.
