About this file
This document is a Technical Request Document (TRD) that outlines the technical requirements for 6 pod trailers. The key details are:
The trailer must have 20-inch diameter by 6-inch wide off-road tires on a dual axle with 4 wheels. The axles must be 53 inches long between the inside surfaces of the tires to accommodate a 42-inch wide platform without impeding the turning of the front wheels. The axles should be positioned 9-10 inches below the top of the 34-inch wide by 92-inch long by 6-inch tall frame, resulting in an overall frame height of approximately 23 inches. The trailer requires steerable front wheels with a 4-foot tongue that lifts for storage, independent suspension, and a powder-coated or all-weather painted finish. The dry weight of the trailer must be under 600 pounds with a payload capacity of at least 1500 pounds.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center for the procurement of these pod trailers. Quotes must meet the technical requirements of the attached TRD line-for-line to be considered valid. The award will be made using a best value determination based on technical capability, past performance, and price.
