1.1 BACKGROUND
1.1.1 USS Ohio (SSGN 726) Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) scavenging air blower requires repairs as readings are out of specification after 95 hours of run time since new installation in 2020 when the EDG was overhauled.
1.1.2 The below table is a history of the scavenging air blower’s specification readings for the Ohio blower installed in 2020. The “2020 POST OVERHAUL INSPECTION REPORT” readings are taken from the post overhaul inspection report and the “CURRENT INSPECTION 2022” readings were taken by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) DEI inspectors during current in progress diesel inspection in February 2022.
1.2 SCOPE OF WORK
1.2.1 The scope of work for this Task Order is:
· Inspect as-found condition of USS Ohio scavenging air blower.
· Accomplish retiming of blower.
· Perform operational testing of the blower on blower test stand.
· Deliver blower to USS Ohio at PSNS.

Inspect the bolts, nuts and bores for nicks, burrs and/or signs of galling or other signs of damage or improper fit. Measure and record the outside diameter of the existing fitted timing bolts at a minimum of three locations along the shank of each bolt. Measure and record the surface finish and inside diameter of the fitted timing bolt bores at a minimum of three locations along the length of each bore. Discard bolts and nuts after visual and dimensional inspection.
3.2.2.2 Set blower rotor timing in accordance with section 2.7.11 of reference 2.1.
