About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Bridgman Public Schools for floor covering replacement in various classrooms, hallways, and offices. The project involves removing existing vinyl flooring, base, and transition strips, and installing new Armstrong Standard Excelon Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) in eight distinct areas totaling approximately 9,645 square feet. The work is to be completed between June 2 and June 30, 2025, with sealed bids due on April 18, 2025, at 9:00 AM EST at Bridgman High School. Bidders are encouraged to perform an on-site inspection and are required to submit unit pricing per square yard, which includes tear-up, disposal, floor preparation, adhesives, flooring, vinyl base, and vinyl reducers.
The bid requires comprehensive documentation, including a familial relationship disclosure, Iran Economic Sanctions Act affidavit, debarment certification, and conflict of interest form. The contractor must provide proof of insurance, potentially secure a performance bond (if the project exceeds $50,000), and guarantee workmanship for one year. Payment will be made in full within 45 days of completing all work, including punch-listed items. The VCT specifications call for Pearl White 51803 color tiles, 12 inches by 12 inches by 1/8 inch thick, with brown rubber cove base and transition strips. The owner will be responsible for moving furniture, and the contractor must leave 5% of each VCT color for the owner's stock.
