About this file

This is a technical specifications document outlining satellite communication services and equipment requirements. The document details two distinct satellite service solutions: an auto-deploy VSAT system featuring a 1.2-meter antenna with a standard 6-watt BUC, PLL LNB, and Evolution x5 Modem and Controller capable of delivering 3 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speeds via IP Access, and a portable BGAN system consisting of a battery-powered antenna approximately 9 inches square with a maximum radiated power of +15.1dBW that supports 464 kbps download and 448 kbps upload speeds via Galaxy 1 satellite service. Both systems are designed to support voice over IP and data services with engineering specifically addressing high latency issues inherent to satellite communications.

The specifications indicate that equipment and software compatibility is a critical requirement, with the equipment provider ensuring out-of-box operational capability with both IP Access and Galaxy 1 service providers. If an alternative BGAN service provider is selected, system reconfiguration including firmware updates and SIM card replacement would be necessary. The document emphasizes system reliability and proven compatibility, suggesting these are established solutions rather than new deployments, though no pricing information, contract term details, funding sources, or award dates are specified in this technical specifications document.

Text version

The technical specifications for the two satellite services are as follows:

The auto deploy VSAT 1.2 meter antenna comes with a standard 6 Watt BUC, PLL LNB, newest Evolution x5 Modem and Controller.

This supports a service level of 3 Mbps Download X 1 Mbps Upload speed from IP Access.

The portable BGAN is an approximate 9 inch square battery powered antenna, with a maximum radiated power (EIRP) of +15.1dBW (decibel-watt).

This supports a service level of 464 kbps Download X 448 kbps Upload speed from Galaxy 1.

It should be noted our equipment and software both support voice (VoIP) and data (Internet) services that are engineered specifically to operate and overcome high latency issues associated with satellite communications. Additionally, if you must choose another provider for the BGAN service it must be reconfigured with a new firmware update and SIM card.

F4W as the equipment provider ensures your systems will operate out-of-box as designed. Our systems and software are proven, reliable and compatible with both satellite service providers IP Access and Galaxy 1.
