About this file
The documents are technical specifications for telecommunications cabling systems (Sections 27 10 00 and 27 51 23) for the Power Independence Mission Control Station project at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado. Section 27 10 00 details requirements for building telecommunications cabling systems, including backbone and horizontal copper and fiber optic cabling, pathway systems, outlet/connector assemblies, and installation standards. Section 27 51 23 covers the intercommunication system specifications, including requirements for master and remote audio/video stations, amplifiers, speaker systems, and associated technical performance criteria.
Key technical requirements include installing Category 6 UTP and optical fiber cabling with star topology, compliance with TIA telecommunications standards, provisions for future system expansion, specific performance metrics for audio/video transmission, and detailed testing and acceptance protocols. The systems must support Power over Ethernet (PoE), provide surge protection, maintain specific signal-to-noise ratios, and include features like privacy switches and call indication mechanisms. The documentation provides comprehensive technical guidance for contractors on equipment selection, installation methods, labeling, grounding, and system verification procedures.
