Technical Specifications for a Ground-Based Decoy System
This document contains technical specifications for a 1:1 scale, highly credible ground-based decoy system designed to replicate a wheeled, high-mobility artillery rocket system. The decoy must be physically and spectrally indistinguishable from the actual vehicle when observed by military-grade sensors from a minimum reconnaissance distance of 200 meters under various weather conditions. The system shall be fully assemblable and operational by three trained personnel within one hour in field conditions using no specialized tools, with a modular design allowing replacement of damaged parts and future upgrades without replacing the entire system.
The decoy shall weigh approximately 500 kilograms and feature a lightweight aluminum frame chassis with a 3D body constructed from foldable, laminated corrugated plastic plates painted in standard military olive drab (RAL6031 or equivalent). All structural details larger than 40 centimeters by 40 centimeters must be physically reproduced, including smaller characteristic features such as mirrors and antennas. The system must produce correct passive spectral responses across visual, near-infrared, short-wave infrared, radar, and LiDAR domains through appropriate laminates, paints, and geometrically accurate shaping with planar surfaces and corner-reflecting details. Active thermal signature emulation is required through add-on elements mimicking engine compartment, exhaust system, tire, and crew cabin heat signatures, powered by an external power source not included in base delivery. The packed system shall fit into durable transport boxes not exceeding 50 kilograms per box with total packed volume of approximately 6 cubic meters for standard light commercial van transport. The assembled system must be equipped with wheels and an integrated towing beam for tactical mobility via vehicle or hand-pushing. Key materials and components must be tested per military standards MIL-STD-810H/G, including fungus resistance, temperature operation, humidity, rain, salt fog, and transportation vibration testing. The system must be field-maintainable with light damage repairable by troops using provided spare parts, and the vendor must provide replacement parts for any system component. Optional features include an RF signal-emitting device (UHF/VHF) and custom multi-color camouflage painting.

Technical Specifications for a Ground-Based Decoy System
1.0 General Requirements
1.1 Purpose: To provide a highly credible, mobile, and rapidly deployable decoy of a wheeled, high-mobility artillery rocket system. The decoy must be capable of deceiving enemy reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) assets.
1.2 Credibility: The system must be physically and spectrally indistinguishable from the actual vehicle when observed by military-grade sensors from a minimum reconnaissance distance of 200 meters under various weather conditions.
1.3 Assembly: The system must be capable of being fully assembled and made operational by a team of three trained personnel within one hour in field conditions. No specialized tools shall be required for assembly, and the design must minimize the number of loose parts.
1.4 Modularity: The design shall be modular, allowing for the replacement of individual damaged parts and future upgrades to details and signature components without replacing the entire system.
2.0 Physical Specifications
2.1 Scale: The decoy shall be a 1:1 scale representation of the target system, with authentic physical dimensions and geometry.
2.2 Construction:
* Chassis: A lightweight, rigid metal (e.g., aluminum) frame.
* Body: A 3D structure formed from foldable, laminated corrugated plastic plates to create a lightweight yet sti body. The structure must feature flat surfaces and sharp, well-defined corners to provide a realistic radar cross-section.
* Details: All structural details larger than 40 cm x 40 cm must be physically reproduced.
Smaller, characteristic features such as mirrors and antennas must also be included.
2.3 Assembled Weight: Approximately 500 kg, providing su icient stability in heavy winds without the need for external anchoring.
2.4 Color: The base platform color shall be a standard military olive drab (e.g., RAL6031 or equivalent).
3.0 Signature Emulation
3.1 Passive Signatures: The system must produce a correct passive spectral response across multiple domains:
* Visual (VIS), Near-Infrared (NIR), and Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR): Achieved through the use of appropriate spectral laminates and paints.
* Radar (including SAR) and LiDAR: Achieved through geometrically accurate shaping, planar surfaces, sharp edges, and corner-reflecting details to produce a credible radar signature.
3.2 Active Thermal Signature: The system must include add-on active thermal elements to produce an authentic thermal fingerprint. At a minimum, these elements must emulate the heat signatures of:
* Engine compartment
* Exhaust system
* Tires
* Crew cabin (powered by a separate heating unit)
* Requires an external power source (e.g., aggregate, not included in base delivery).
4.0 Deployment and Mobility
4.1 Strategic Transport (Packed):
* The entire system shall be packed into durable, reinforced transport boxes. Each box shall not exceed a loaded weight of 50 kg and must be movable by two persons.
* The packed dimensions for a single box should be approximately 200 cm x 120 cm x 35 cm.
* The total packed volume should be approximately 6 cubic meters, allowing for transport in a standard light commercial van.
4.2 Tactical Mobility (Assembled):
* The assembled system must be equipped with wheels and an integrated towing beam.
* It must be movable for short distances by towing with a vehicle (e.g., ATV, UGV) or by hand-pushing on terrain accessible by truck.
5.0 Environmental Durability & Maintenance
5.1 Standards: Key materials and components must be tested in accordance with relevant military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810H/G) for:
* Fungus Resistance (Method 508.8)
* High/Low Temperature Operation (Methods 501.7 & 502.7)
* Humidity (Method 507.6)
* Rain (Method 506.6)
* Salt Fog (Method 509.7)
* Transportation Vibration (Method 514.8)
5.2 Maintenance: The system must be field-maintainable. Light damage must be repairable by troops using provided spare parts. The vendor must be capable of providing replacement parts for any component of the system.
6.0 Optional Features
6.1 RF Emitter: An optional RF signal-emitting device (UHF/VHF) to mimic the electronic signature of the operational system.
6.2 Custom Camouflage: The option for custom, multi-color camouflage painting to match specific operational environments.
