About this file

This is a Technical Specifications document for gear motors required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District for the Dworshak National Fish Hatchery in Ahsahka, Idaho. The solicitation requires seven 1.5 horsepower right angle gear motors (CLIN 001) and three 0.5 horsepower right angle gear motors (CLIN 002), with delivery required within eight weeks of contract award to the specified address at Dworshak Project during normal business hours (Monday-Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding federal holidays).

The 1.5 horsepower motors must operate on 460 VAC, 3-phase, 60 Hz at 1700-1800 RPM with TEFC enclosure, premium efficiency, inverter duty rating, continuous duty rating, and integral encoder. Each unit requires a brake with minimum 20 NM torque rating, junction box with NPT connection, and metal nameplate. The paired gearbox must have minimum 1750 RPM input shaft rating, 2 horsepower input capacity, output shaft RPM between 56-62, minimum 1950 in-lbs output torque, 1.5-inch solid output shaft with 5/16-inch keyway, heavy-duty bearings, 1400 LBS overhung load capacity, cast iron housing with powder coating, EAL oil lubrication with desiccant breather, 1.7 service factor, and IP55 ingress protection. The 0.5 horsepower motors have identical electrical and motor specifications but require lower brake torque (5 NM minimum), smaller gearbox input (1 horsepower), fixed 30 RPM output, 1450 in-lbs output torque, 1-inch output shaft with 1/4-inch keyway, and identical encoder requirements. Both motor types must include integral incremental encoders with M12 connection, 1024 pulse per revolution, line driver 7272 interface, 5-30 VDC operating voltage, 300 kHz maximum frequency, 6000 MIN-1 maximum speed, -20 to 80 degrees Celsius temperature range, IP66 ingress protection, and 150 mA maximum current consumption. Contractors must submit manufacturer data sheets, lubricant specifications, and drawings in the pre-award package, with post-award delivery including operation and maintenance manuals. All items carry a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty for workmanship and material defects.
