Technical Specification The Dalles Dam
ASTM-B209, 3003 ALGRIP
1.0 Background
The Dalles Dam is replacing all the steel, heavy, and unsafe deck plating in the Generator units. The OEM steel deck plating is very heavy, and slippery and has led to many pinched fingers and injuries over the years. This aluminum Algrip upgrade/replacement, will help decrease accidents, prevent more slips and falls, and provide a much more ergonomic and safe solution to moving the deck plates when accessing areas and components under the walkways.
2.0 SPECIFICATON
The overall scope of this purchase is to provide 170 sheets of one (1) quarter-inch thick by 4-foot wide by 8-foot long Aluminum Algrip. The Algrip must be Aluminum 3003 mill finish meeting the standards of ASTM-B209.
Algrip is a slip-resistant floor plate designed to provide safe walking surfaces for the most demanding commercial and industrial installations in wet or dry conditions. Algrip is manufactured through a patented CNC laser deposition process in which hundreds of rugged, custom alloys, slip-resistant laser deposits are delivered to each square foot of a steel plate substrate in a standard .250 x .375 staggered matrix, no less than 1,000 deposits per square foot, providing slip-resistance in all directions.
