About this file

This document is a Submission for Brand Name or Equal technical exhibit for a 30-foot vessel solicitation by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC). The detailed specification requires a vessel with specific technical requirements, including a Thirty Foot Contender (30T) or equivalent boat with precise dimensional, performance, and equipment specifications. Key requirements include a deep "V" hull design, twin Yamaha F300 counter-rotating outboard engines, minimum 250-gallon fuel capacity, VinyLester resin construction, and a specific set of mandatory equipment such as an aluminum T-top, Garmin EmpirBus digital switching, international navigational lighting, and a Garmin electronics package.

FLETC mandates strict brand specifications, particularly for electronics and systems, specifying Garmin as the only approved system for digital switching, GPS, radome, and other navigation equipment. The vessel must have a Lilly brand Kingston Gray hull, specific warranty terms (one-year complete systems and ten-year structural), and delivery within 6 months of award. An AMERITrail aluminum double-axle trailer is also required. The solicitation emphasizes uniformity with FLETC and partner organization training standards, with a clear directive that alternate brands must precisely match specifications or risk being deemed unacceptable.
