Tasks

a) Develop Construction Schedule

i) Provide a basic construction/installation schedule detailing major activity beginning with deactivation of the current system through completion of installation.

ii) Incorporate anticipated lead times for materials, equipment, and components.

iii) Incorporate installation of the Instron controller and testing software performed by Instron.

iv) Incorporate commissioning of the Instron controller and testing software performed by Instron.

v) Incorporate calibration activities to be performed by Instron.

vi) Gantt chart format.

b) Demo existing equipment to be replaced

i) Dispose of and/or recycle old equipment off site.

ii) Government refuse containers shall not be used for disposal.

c) Install new system components to meet Implementation Plan “Required Option 1

– Two Motion Axes”:

i) Instron 8800 MT Upgrade

(1) Instron 8800 MT test control tower, interface devices, PC and associated software, commissioning, and training (one unit).

(2) 8800 MT Controller, PC, Install ‐ All Instron related installation associated with option 1

(3) Perform all electrical, mechanical and software installations as needed for testing machine operation.

(4) Onsite Commissioning of 8800 MT controller.

d) Install new system components to meet DMC Implementation Plan “Recommended Equipment” excluding Mechanical Safety Updates:

i) Rockwell Automation programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware and software (multiple components):

(1) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐L306ER CompactLogix PLC (x2)

(2) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐IA16(x4)

(3) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐OA16 (x2)

(4) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐IA16 (x1)

(5) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐OW16 (x2)

(6) Allen‐Bradley 5069‐OX4I (x2)

(7) Allen‐Bradley 1794‐AENTR (x2)

(8) Panel Build Labor and Hardware for PLC (x2)

(9) Perform all electrical, mechanical and software installations as needed for testing machine operation.

ii) Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) replacement:

(1) Modern high power VFD (Powerflex 750, Schneider Altivar ATV340, or equivalent) (x1)

(2) Panel Build Labor and Hardware for VFD (x1)

(3) Perform all electrical, mechanical and software installations as need for testing machine operation.

iii) Hydraulic Pump Motor Soft Starters

(1) Soft Starters for hydraulic system

(2) 100 HP pump motor soft starter (x3)

(3) 10 HP circulation pump motor contactor (x1)

(4) Perform all electrical, mechanical and software installations as need for testing machine operation.

iv) Offline Development ‐ Code Conversion, IO mapping, etc.

v) Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) ‐ Verify Panel functionality before install

vi) Onsite Commissioning

vii) Documentation Creation ‐ Updated Electrical Drawings and Operational Manual

e) Calibration of Equipment

i) Within 30 days of completion of all mechanical, electrical and software upgrades performed above, schedule and perform a NIST traceable calibration conforming to ASTM

Standard E‐4 of the machine to include the two full load ranges (600,000) pounds and

5,000,000 pounds) and machine displacement and provide certification of calibration.

ii) Calibration shall be performed by Instron.
