About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a web-based patient education handout program for Chinle Hospital, covering the period from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. The Indian Health Service (IHS) seeks to procure the Krames on Demand (KOD) patient education application, which provides a comprehensive, print-on-demand educational resource for patients across various care areas. The program will enable staff to generate educational handouts at the point of care, with the contractor required to work closely with IHS and comply with all organizational regulations.
The procurement is a sole-source award to The StayWell Co., LLC, justified by the company's unique capability to provide this specialized patient education tool. The system has previously delivered 16,870 patient handouts and will continue to offer information on diseases and wellness topics. The point of contact for the project is Keithetta Begay-Curley, RN, Nurse Educator, with technical oversight by Hazel Tso. The contract will be implemented at the Chinle Service Unit, located off US Highway 191 in Chinle, Arizona, and involves close collaboration with the facility's IRM department to ensure seamless integration of the web-based educational platform.
