8.0 RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the records reviews, interviews and on-site reconnaissance, no recognized environmental conditions were identified on or adjacent to the subject property.

Subject Property Facility Disclosure Factor Findings

No environmental concerns were identified related to hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air quality, pesticide use, ordnance, radiological substances, water quality, asbestos, PCBs, lead-based paint or radon within the subject area.

Adjacent Properties

Three LUST facilities are located within 0.5 mile of the subject property.

Two ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION SITES within 0.5 mile of the subject property.

Therefore, there are no known potential environmental concerns associated with the subject property. No migration of contamination from the LUST sites adjacent to the subject property has been identified.

8.1 FACILITY MATRIX

Based on the findings, AFI 32-7020 requires the EBS to categorize the presence of hazardous substances, petroleum products, or their derivatives for each property or area.

A summary of the observed and available information for the proposed enhanced use lease agreement land transfer is presented in the Facility Matrix Summary (Table 8-1).

8.2 PROPERTY CATEGORIZATION

Based on the available data, subject properties are characterized and coded according to one of seven categories. Based on the categorization criteria presented in Section 4, the subject area would be classified as a Category 1, which is “An area or real property where no storage, release, or disposal of hazardous substances or petroleum products or their derivatives has occurred into the environment or structures or disposed on the subject property (including no migration of these substances from adjacent properties).”

8.3 RESOURCES MAP

There were no resources identified at the subject property.

8.4 DATA GAPS

The conclusions drawn for this EBS are based primarily on observations of conditions made at the time the VSIs and VRSs were conducted and on information made readily available through the records and database searches and interviews. No data gaps have been identified.

According to the categorization criteria presented in Section 4, the subject area would be classified as a Category 1. Based on AFI 32-7020, the Air Force may proceed with any planned transaction concerning a Category 1 property; thus, the Air Force could proceed with the enhanced use lease agreement land transfer to the Mississippi Cyber Initiative.
