About this file
This is a technical specification document for a spatial light modulator required by NASA/NSSC. The specifications detail requirements for an ultra-high speed device operating at 1550 nm wavelength, with an array size of at least 17.4 x 17.4 mm and a minimum pixel array of 1024x1024 with pixel pitch of 17.0 x 17.0 μm or greater.
Key performance requirements include a zero-order diffraction efficiency exceeding 74% at 1550 nm, phase stroke of at least 2π, reflected wavefront distortion of at least λc/12, and liquid crystal response time of ≤3.9 ms with switching frequency ≥256.4 Hz. The device must support at least 256 CPU to controller phase levels and 4,096 analog controller to SLM phase levels. The requirement includes provision of a Software Developer Kit (SDK) supporting both Matlab and C++ programming environments.
