About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) from NASA-GSFC details requirements for a mobile vacuum pumping station needed by the Detector Systems Branch for testing advanced electronics and detectors operating at cryogenic temperatures in vacuum environments.
The system must include four main components: a turbomolecular pump (with N2 pumping speed ≥250L/s, hydrocarbon-free, air-cooled, <42dB noise level), a dry scroll pump (dimensions <10.5x10.5x17 inches, oil-free, ≥150L/min pumping speed), a full-range vacuum gauge (measuring from <5e-9 torr to atmospheric pressure), and all necessary vacuum components mounted on a wheeled cart. All components must run on 120VAC 60Hz power. The system requires KF40 vacuum fittings, must achieve a base pressure of <1e-10 torr for the turbo pump and <4e-2 torr for the scroll pump, and must be delivered within 6 weeks of award. The place of performance is at the vendor's location.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Mobile pumping station
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA-GSFC is developing advanced electronics and detectors for aerospace applications including detectors operating at cryogenic temperature in vacuum environment. To facilitate device test and characterization, the Detector Systems Branch requires a portable mobile vacuum pumping station that can be easily transported around the laboratory for configuration with various testing system. The following specifications are required.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specifications
The mobile vacuum pumping station consists of the following 4 components: (1) a turbomolecular pump, (2) backed by a dry scroll pump, with (3) a full-range vacuum gauge, (4) all vacuum components needed to mount said gauge and to adapt the pump output to KF40, with all of this mounted on (5) a cart mounted on wheels or casters that can be easily transported around our lab and optionally have the wheels/caster locked in place for use. All should run on 120VAC 60Hz power.
