About this file
This is a Statement of Work for procurement of a Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera system by the ESM project at NASA Ames Research Center. The project seeks to upgrade an existing MWIR camera that has been in service for approximately 15 years to characterize shock wave properties within an Electric Arc Shock Tube.
The required camera is an IRC812 InSb Infrared Imaging Camera or equivalent, with the following key specifications: 1280 x 1024-pixel array; image area between 6 x 15 mm; sensitivity range of 1700-5300 nm minimum; cryogenic operation at 77K via L-N2, Stirling, or similar cooling; programmable integration time with minimum gate time of 0.6 microseconds or less; single shot externally triggered acquisition with reproducible behavior; working distance less than 1.0 inch (preferred 0.878 inches); flange mount face with 4-inch bolt circle; minimum 14-bit A/D conversion; software development kit with Python control over RS-232 or CameraLink; adjustable A/D gain; read noise below 210 electrons; sensitivity NETD below 30mK; maximum F/4 aperture; no built-in cold filter; and 100% fill factor. The vendor must provide efficiency, gain, or signal curves as a function of time during gating pulses. The place of performance is NASA Ames Research Center, Building 229, Room 157, Moffett Field, California 94035, with a performance period of 8-12 weeks from award.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
The ESM project at NASA Ames Research Center requests the procurement of an IR Cameras Mid-Wave Infrared Camera OR EQUIVALENT, to characterize shock wave properties within the Electric Arc Shock Tube. This procurement will upgrade the existing Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera, which has been in service for approximately 15 years.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
LINE PART NO. DESCRIPTION QTY.
1 IRC812 OR EQUIVALENT IRC812 InSb Infrared Imaging Camera, modified with shorter cold stop height and shorter back working distance per ICD 319-000-852. No Cold Filter.OR
EQUIVALENT
1 Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Focal Plane Array Camera The specification of the MWIR FPA Camera include:
• 1280 x 1024-pixel array
• Image area between 6 x 6 mm and 15 x 15 mm
• Range of sensitivity to include at minimum 1700-5300 nm
• Cryogenic operation through L-N2, Stirling or similar at 77K
• Programmable integration time with minimum gate time of 0.6 us or less. Vendor must be able to supply curve showing efficiency, gain or signal as a function of time during the gating pulse.
• Single shot externally triggered acquisition
• Reproducible single shot behavior. If needed, pre-trigger can be supplied no more than 100 us prior to acquisition.
• Working distance from detector to front face of detector <1.0 inch (preferred 0.878”)
• Flange mount face with 4” Bolt Circle, pattern to be provided by NASA
• Minimum 14-bit A/D conversion
• Software development kit with Python control over RS-232, CameraLink or similar
• Adjustable A/D gain to operate at less than full well
• Read noise <210 e-
• Sensitivity NETD <30mK
• Maximum F/4
• No built in cold-filter
• 100% fill factor
