The bars are to be welded to a secure steel frame inside any HVAC (supply, return or transfer) ducts, larger than 6” on sides and 96 square inches in cross-section, and are to be installed at the location where the duct bisects the demising partition. Fire dampers larger than 96 square inches, at the USAO perimeter demising partitions, are to receive similar security grids as deterrent against intrusion, through ducts and damper openings, into the USAO space.
Steel man bars are not required in ducts at suite demising partitions in courthouses.

Provide one a minimum of (1) one20 amp/110 volt, NEMA 5-20R, three wire, single-phase quadruplex outlet on a dedicated circuit. Final outlet type and quantities TBD upon district and OA review.
If Office Automation determines that all data cabling cannot be run to the ADP room due to distance issues, an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) or supplemental computer room shall be utilized. The room must be located within United States Attorney Offices controlled space, be a minimum of 75-100 square feet and have vinyl, static resistant flooring. The location of the IDF shall be determined by EOUSA. Final outlet type and quantity TBD. It is preferable that all data rooms be stacked on top of one another. If an IDF is used, the General Contractor shall provide conduit and cores (minimum 2-4”) between the ADP and IDF rooms.
The local Systems Manager, Office Automation and Facilities must be consulted before the beginning of any project to determine the total number of circuits needed, as well as any other electrical, telephone, or equipment requirements.
All Computer Racks must be grounded.
Shower / Locker Rooms Provide a counter height 20 amp/110-120 volt, ground fault interrupter (GFI) outlet at the grooming shelves.
Additional housekeeping outlets shall be provided as required by code.
Lighting
Deep-cell parabolic louver 2’-0” wide x 4’-0” long or 2’-0” wide x 2’-0” long (or building standard that meets or exceeds this standard) fluorescent lighting fixtures with energy efficient lamps (T8 or better, i.e. energy efficient LED lighting) and electronic ballasts for standard interior lighting.
Such fixtures shall produce and maintain a uniform lighting level of 50 foot-candles at working surface height throughout work spaces, 20 foot-candles in corridors and 10 foot-candles in other non-working areas. Alternative proposals must be approved by EOUSA.
Provide circular recessed down lighting or track lighting, connected to a dimmer switch, in all large and medium size conference rooms.
Power & Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Requirements With the installation of EVoIP, all switches will be connected to UPS units to ensure E911 survivability in the event of a power outage. The UPS units will be sized to provide 15 minutes of power during an outage.
UPS Models The UPS models are sized based on the power requirements of each stack, which is calculated by adding the watts for each switch. The UPS model information, as well as associated power and circuit types are shown in the table below. Select the model name to link to the APC website for additional information.
